New International Student Orientation
Friday, January 3rd, 2014
You must attend the orientation scheduled for the semester you are coming. Moving to a new country is a complicated process and it is extremely important that you understand the immigration laws and policies you have to follow. During orientation you will learn about Utah State University—including our policies and procedures—and you will have help registering for your classes and finding your advisor. Please contact the Office of International Students and Scholars if it is impossible for you to attend.
Early or Late Arrivals: If you are planning to arrive at Utah State University on a different day, please come to the Military Science Building, Room 115 to check in as soon as possible. You will need to bring your all of your immigration and visa documents.
Past orientation topics have included:
- Academic Advising and the USU Academic Resource Center
- Intensive English Language Institute
- Career Services, Employment, and Resume Assistance
- Study Abroad
- Student Health Insurance
- English Conversation Partner Program
- Visa and Immigration Regulations and Procedures
Become more familiar with Housing, Clubs, and Campus Life by reviewing the International Student Handbook before arriving at USU.
