Below are the steps for applying for the program. Please contact with any questions.


How to Apply to Saudi Airlines

1st Step (Apply with Saudia and USU)

  • The applicant should email Saudi Airlines, Training & Scholarship Department at
    • Applicants can request a copy of Saudia's Sponsored Student Guidelines (USA) by emailing 
      These materials will help the students decide if this program is a match.
    • Students must submit the international undergrad online application as well as submit the physical official documents 
      (not copies) required to USU before the admission deadline
      •  Undergraduate applicants:
        • Transcripts for high school education
        • High school diploma
        • Transcripts for all university/ higher education
        • Other documents required by Saudi Airlines 
      • Graduate applicants:
        • Diplomas for all higher education work
        • Transcripts for all university/ higher education

2nd Step (Testing)

  • Candidates must complete a basic aviation test administered by Saudia before taking any aviation classes
  • Testing dates vary but are typically offered once a semester.
  • English proficiency test (undergraduates and graduate applicants)
    • Students may also provide evidence of English proficiency from other sources accepted by USU
      • Undergraduates: 71 on the iBT TOEFL or a 6.0 Overall (Overall Band Score) on the IELTS with a minimum of 5.0 on each 
        subscale (Individual Bands)
      • Graduates: 79 on the iBT TOEFL, or a score of 6.0 on the IELTS, or a score of 53 on the PTE Academic
  • Math proficiency test (undergraduate applicants only)

3rd Step (Candidates selected)

Saudi Airlines then pre-selects candidates to be approved for the Aviation program at USU

  • If accepted, USU works with Saudia to schedule sponsored student arrival.
  • USU will provide weekly and end-of-semester reports for sponsor and generate legal documents required to request visa documents.
