Thanksgiving Day

Each year on the 4th Thursday in November, Americans gather for a day of feasting, family, American football, Black Friday shopping. Traditionally, Thanksgiving meals include turkey, served with mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, sweet corn, squash and other autumn garden vegetables, and pumpkin pie. Thanksgiving gathering originated as a fall harvest festival in 1621. Thanksgiving history is available at http://www.history.com/topics/thanksgiving.
